UK Work Visa Statistics April-June 2017

This relates to UK Work Visa StatisticsUK Immigration and Work Visa Statistics for entry clearance, extension and settlement grants during the second quarter (April-June) 2017. All in all, 68,792 UK visa granted i.e. 46,582 entry clearance visas, 17,890 extensions and 4,320 settlements to Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 5, Non-PBS and other work visa applicants.

UK Entry Clearance Visa Right to Work- 46,582

During the Q2 2017, 46,582 UK Entry Clearance Visas were granted to Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 5, Non-PBS and Others work visa applicants from outside the UK.

Tier 1 Visa Statistics- 1,184

565 and 619 UK visa granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 34.32% and 25.09%, respectively.

UK Tier 2 Visa Statistics- 23,589

12,633 and 10,956 UK visa granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 2.06% and 1.73%, respectively.

Tier 5 Visa Statistics- 12,428

11,948 and 480 visas were granted to the Main Applicants and to their Dependants with a refusal rate of 2.06% and 1.73%, respectively.

Non-PBS- 9,218

9,215 and 3 visas were granted to the Main Applicants and to their Dependants with a refusal rate of 10.02% and 50.00%, respectively, under the following categories:

  1. Domestic Workers in Private Households- 8,131 and 3 visas were granted to the Main Applicants and to their Dependants with a refusal rate of 10.57%  and 50.00%, respectively;
  2. UK Ancestry Visa- 919 entry clearance visas were granted to the Main Applicants with a refusal rate of 3.66%;
  3. Other Permit Free Employment- 165 visas were granted to the Main Applicants with a refusal rate of 15.31%.

Other- 163

A total of 163 visas were granted to the Main Applicants with a refusal rate of 1.20%.

UK Work Visa Extension Grants- 17,890

17,890 extensions to stay in the UK with the following breakup:

Tier 1 Visa Extension- 2,097

1,018 and 1,079 Tier 1 Visa extensions were granted to the Main and Dependants Applicants with a refusal rate of 27.03% and 12.77%, respectively.

Tier 2 Visa Extension- 13,423

6,962 and 6,461 Tier 2 Visa extensions were granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 4.17% and 2.46%, respectively.

Tier 5 Visa Extension- 344

238 and 106 Tier 5 Visa extensions were granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 8.11% and 5.36%, respectively.

Non-PBS Work Visa Extension- 1,546

1,464 and 82 extensions to stay in the UK were granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 9.85% and 1.2%, respectively, in the following categories:

  1. Domestic Workers in Private Households- 327 and 30 extensions to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively. No application was refused in this category.
  2. UK Ancestry Visa Extension- 133 and 52 extensions to stay in the UK were granted to the Main Applicants and Dependants with a refusal rate of 4.32% and 1.89%, respectively;
  3. Other Permit Free Employment- 1,004 extensions were granted to the Main Applicants with a refusal rate of 13.30%.

Other Work-Related Extensions- 480

480 extensions to stay in the UK were granted to Dependant Applicants under Other pre-PBS equivalents or non-PBS categories during Q2 2017 with a refusal rate of 6.98%.

Settlement Grants- 4,320

4,320 UK settlement grants with the following breakup:

Employment with a Work Permit After 4/5 Years- 50

15 and 35 settlement grants to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively.

Tier 1 High-Value Migrants- 839

437 and 402 settlement grants to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively.

Tier 2 Sponsored with a Job- 2,822

1,824 and 998 settlement grants to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively.

Tier 5 Temporary workers and Youth Mobility- 1

One (1) settlement grant to the Main Applicants during Q2 2017.

Permit-Free Employment- 203

145 and 58 settlement grants to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively, under Work: Permit-Free Employment, Businessman, Persons of Independent Means.

Commonwealth Citizens with a UK-born Grandparent- 405

314 and 91 settlement grants to the Main Applicants and Dependants, respectively.
