Citizens of France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland are visa-exempt for short visits to the UK and travel under the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme — a £20 digital authorisation through the UK ETA App, not a visa or VAC appointment. Ireland is the exception: under the Common Travel Area, Irish citizens need no ETA and no visa to enter, live or work in the UK.
Each guide covers ETA requirements, the work, study and family routes that still need a full visa, and live UK visa fees in euros with grant-rate context from the latest Home Office statistics.
