This relates to British Citizenship Fees | Indefinite Leave to Remain Fee 2018the announcement of the Home Office dated March 16, 2018, for the annual revision of the Immigration & Nationality Charges, which will be effective from April 6, 2018. This post provides the details of the Home Office Fees 2018/19 for the Visa, Immigration, Nationality Applications made by Applicants from Inside the UK such as: Leave to Remain, Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Naturalisation, British Citizenship and PBS Applications.

Home Office Fee 2018/19 | Naturalisation, Citizenship, ILR Fees

From April 6, 2018, the Fee for Leave to Remain and ILR will revise by 4%. The indefinite leave to remain (ILR) fee will be £2,389 instead of £2,297 after the substantial escalation of £92. The leave to remain fee will increase by £40 and the new fee will be £993.

There will be no change in the application fee for leave to remain as a visitor, Biometric residence permit (BRP) / replacement BRP, Biometric enrolment, European residence document, Administrative review and Processing an application which is subsequently rejected.

Naturalisation Fees

From April 6, 2018, the Naturalisation Fee will be increased by 3.7% (£48). So instead of £1,282, the naturalisation fees will be £1,330. The application fee includes the citizenship ceremony fee of £80. The naturalisation fee for British overseas territory citizens has also increased by 3.9% (£38) and from April 6, 2018, it will be £1,000 instead of £962.

The Home Office made profits of up to 800% on some immigration applications from families. The cost to the Home Office of processing a naturalisation application is £372.

British Citizenship Fees

From April 6, 2018, the nationality registration fee as a British citizen for adults will be increased by 3.7% (£43) so the new few will be £1,206, inclusive of citizenship ceremony fee of £80. The nationality registration fee for children have also increased by 4.0% (£39), therefore, instead of £973 it will be £1,012. Additional £80 per applicant is required to cover the ceremony fee if the minor turn 18 during the application process, the payment of which can be will be requested at point of decision.

There will be a significant 15%(£51) rise in the fee for Renunciation of nationality, Certificate of entitlement (right of abode) and Nationality review. Accordingly, the application fee for these services will be increased from £321 to £372.

Tier 1 Application and Extension Fees from Inside the UK

The fee for all types of Tier 1 applications and extensions from inside the UK will increase from April 6, 2018. The fee for Tier 1 Entrepreneur leave to remain and extension applications will increased by nearly 4% (£149) and will be £1,277, instead of £1,228. Likewise, Tier 1 (Investor) application fee from inside the UK will also increase by 4% (£62) and will be £1,623 from April 6, 2018.

The fee for Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) initial application will be substantially reduced by 48%(-£141) and the new fee will be £152 instead of £293; however, the fee for approval letter from a competent authority in respect of the initial application will increase by a whooping 56% (£164) and the new fee will be £456 instead of £292.

New Fee for Tier 2. 4 and 5 Applications and Extensions

The application fees for all types of applications from inside the UK under Tier 2 will be increased by 3.8-4.2% from April 6, 2018. In absolute terms, the most significant rise of £54 will be for Tier 2 (General), (Intra-Company Transfer) – Long Term Staff, where a certificate of sponsorship has been issued for a period of more than three years as it will increased from £1,354 to £1,408.

Tier 4 Student and Tier 5 Temporary Worker application and extension fee from inside the UK will also be increased by 3.9% and the new fee from April 6, 2018 will be £475 and £244, respectively.
