1. UK Visa Application Fees from Jan 31, 2021
From January 31, 2021, there will be no increase in the UK Visa Application Fees and Service Charges.
Please note, the UK visa application charges are payable under sections 68 and 69 of the Immigration Act 2014. The UK Government revises the Home Office Nationality and Immigration Charges once every year- normally in Feb-March. Accordingly, after the yearly revision, the UK visa application fee in GBP usually does not change. However, since application fees are mostly payable in US$ or in local currencies such as PKR, INR etc., therefore, the actual payable charges may vary due to exchange rate fluctuations.
How to Pay UK Visa Fees 2020/21?
Applicants need to pay the fee online at the time of finalizing the applications.
UK Visa Application Fee Refund
In case of application cancellation, an applicant can solicit a UK visa fee refund up to 8 weeks from the date of the application and only before the biometrics. Therefore, applicants can not claim refund after biometrics. Moreover, the UK Visa Fee is also not refundable after a refusal.
2. Visitor
UK Standard Visitor Visa Fees 2021
From January 31, 2021, there will be no change in the standard visitor visa application charges. Accordingly, the UK Visa Fees 2021 for 6-months visit, tourist, family or business application will remain at £95. And the charges for 2, 5 and 10-year long term visitor visa will also remain at £361, £655 and £822, respectively, for applications from outside the UK. Please note:
- Application charges for infants under 5 and children under 18 are same as that for adults.
- The most common and popular application is the 6 months UK standard visitor visa aka England/London tourist visa. Therefore, a fresh applicant usually applies for the 6 months multiple-entry visitor visa for tourism, family or business visits. Whereas, a repeat visitor can also apply for a long-term visitor visa for tourism, meeting family or business.
- Non-visa nationals such as US, Australian, Canadian nationals usually don’t need a visa for visiting the UK
- Since Dec 18, 2020, the British Government has placed Alert Level 4 lockdown restrictions due to Coronavirus (Covid-19). Therefore, travelling for a holiday is not permitted under alert level 4 in the UK
UK Priority Visitor Visa Fees 2021
From Jan 31, 2021, there will be no increase in the charges for the premium services.
For fast tracking visit visa applications within 5 working days, the cost of priority service will remain at £220. Therefore, the UK visit visa fast tracking fees in 2021 for 6 months, 2, 5 and 10 years applications will remain at £315, £581, £875 and £1,042, respectively.
At a few UKVACs, applicants can also purchase the same-day (24-hour) super-priority service for £956. Accordingly, the UK visa fees with same-day premium service for 6 months, 2, 5 and 10 years are £1,051, £1,317, £1,611 and £1,778, respectively.
Please note, Coronavirus (Covid-19) restrictions have affected the provision of priority and super-priority premium services at a number of Visa Application Centre (VACs).
3. Study
UK Student Visa Cost 2020/21
There will be no increase in the UK student visa fees from Jan 31, 2021. Accordingly, the UK student visa cost in 2021 will remain at £348. For fast tracking, applicants need to pay an additional cost of £220 for priority service. Therefore, the UK student visa application fees in 2021 with priority service will be £568. Moreover, the UK visa cost for child students and dependants is also the same.
4. Family Settlement
Indeed, from Jan 31, 2021, there will be no increase in the cost of route to settlement i.e. UK spouse and family settlement visa applications. Moreover, certain applicants can also fast-track applications by paying £573 for the 30 working day priority service.
UK Spouse Visa Fees 2020/21
The UK spouse visa fee 2021 is £1,523 for an entry clearance application. However, to fast track processing time within 30 working days (instead of 12-24 weeks) the UK spouse visa fees with priority service (£573) is £2,096. The fees for spouse visa extension or leave to remain applications from inside the UK are £1,033, £1,533 and £1,833 for standard (normal 8 weeks), 5-day priority or 24-hours super-priority service, respectively. Spouse visa ILR application charges are £2,389 and £3,189 for normal (6 months) and ILR same day premium service, respectively.
UK Partner and Fiancé(e) Visa Fees 2020/21
The UK Visa fee for civil, unmarried, same-sex partner, fiancé(e) and proposed civil partner is £1,523 for an entry clearance application. The application cost of civil, unmarried, same-sex partner, fiancé(e) and proposed civil partner visa extension or leave to remain applications from inside the UK is £1,033.
5. Work
UK Work Visa Fees 2020/21
There will be no changes in the UK work visa fees from Jan 31, 2021. For details please refer to Price List
Please note, the innovator, start-up, and global talent visa has replaced the Tier 1 Entrepreneur, Graduate Entrepreneur and Tier 1 Exceptional Talent, respectively. Moreover, Skilled Worker, Intra Company Transfer, T2 Sportsperson, T2 Minister of Religion and T5 Temporary Worker visa has replaced the Tier 2 General, Tier 2 Intra-company Transfer (ICT), Tier 2 Sportsperson, Tier 2 Minister of Religion and Tier 5 Temporary Worker visa, respectively.
CESC Discount
A Council of Europe Social Charter (CESC) discount of £55 applies for main applicants under the following routes:

- Global Talent initial application

6. Coronavirus
No Fee for UK Covid-19 Visa Concession Scheme (CVCS)
If a person with a valid leave has left the UK before 17 March 2020 and intended to return but was unable to do so before the visa expired because of travel restrictions related to coronavirus (COVID-19) then can apply for Covid Visa Concession Scheme (CVCS). Apart from visitors, the CVCS is available until 31 March 2021 for all other routes and it is free of application charges.

7. Priority Visa
UK Priority Visa Fees 2020/21
From Jan 31, 2021, there will be no changes in the UK priority visa service for settlement (£573) and non-settlement (£220) applications. Moreover, the charger for super-priority (£956) and other premium services will also remain the same.
